SHEA BUTTER is an excellent moisturizer and emollient as it softens and smoothes the skin. It is effective for treating eczema, burns, fading scars, rashes, acne, dry skin, blemishes, skin discolorations, chapped lips, stretch marks, wrinkles and psoriasis. Shea is also an anti-inflammatory agent and is therefore able to reduce the pain of Arthritis and other aches and pains throughout the body.

The Shea tree produces a fruit which looks like large plums. It is a natural fat that is extracted from the fruit of the shea tree by crushing and boiling the fruit. Shea butter is edible and is used as cooking oil in West Africa, and therefore is very safe.

The shea tree grows naturally in the wild in the dry Savannah belt of West Africa from Senegal in the west to Sudan in the east, and onto the foothills of the Ethiopian highlands. It occurs in 19 countries across the African continent, namely Benin, Ghana, Chad, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Guinea Bissau, Cote D’Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Togo Uganda, Zaire and Guinea.
